It's also my first piece of 2013!

Once upon a time, a girl was abandoned by her mother in a mysterious land. The girl was extremely scared, but every time she started to cry, the magical butterflies that inhabited the land would comfort her by flying about performing their dance for her. She loved the butterflies.

One day, when the girl had grown older,a handsome young prince found her lying down in a tree. He fell in love with her and told himself he would make her his. He courted the girl relentlessly until one day, she agreed to give him a chance. Eventually, he asked for her hand in marriage, and she excepted. Overjoyed, he told her to get ready to leave. He would be returning her to mankind. Alarmed, she refused to join the man, now fearing that he would abandon her like her human mother. She ran away from him with tears in her eyes.

That night, the butterflies arrived to comfort the girl with their dance. As she watched the beautiful creatures sparkle with each flutter, she decided her own fate. She would become a butterfly like them. For the next few years, the girl collected the wing s of butterflies that had passed away. On her birthday, she arrived at the tree where the butterflies lived, to unveil her new wings to them. She was so excited to show them, but when she lowered her vail, the spirits still living in her makeshift wings began to tear at her skin and fall apart, unable to except her human body. The girl broke down in tears. The leader of the butterflies arrived to her, after giving her a small parting gift, he told her to go back to the human world, where she belonged.
